Urban Garage - Via Forcella 7 - Milan
This year, if you like street art, summer in Milan has big surprises. Urban Garage (Via Forcella 7 - Tortona area) is going to host Urban Painting Summer Show.
This is the largest exhibition of urban art for this year, displayed at international level. About thirty artists, coming from different corners of the world, will reach Milan to create a constantly changing exhibition. The main protagonists of the whole platform will be paintings, created in live-painting modality, an experiment that leads to create works of art live, allowing visitors to understand secrets of the artists. In the meanwhile, there will be also space for sculpture and installation, considering these days street art comes through different media and techniques of expression.
Thanks to the initiative of Luigi Mauri and Tatiana Belluzzo for Urban Painting, Milan will see works of artists such as Claudio Ethos (Brazil), Will Barras (Uk), M-City (Poland), Logan Hicks (USA), Dome and Satone (Germany), C215 (France), BTOY (Spain ).... but also the Italic Sten & Lex, Sonda, Orticanoodles... well, some of the greatest international players of street art.
Urban Painting Summer Show has opened its doors on June 8th and it will refresh evenings in Milan until July 31st. A whirlwind of colors and emotions that includes various exhibitions. Writing, graffiti, spray, stencils, brushes .... excellent techniques that you can't learn in Academies. They can be inferred only from the street, where aesthetic possibilities are endless and the potential for a direct dialogue with people is vivid. Overall, then, we have to deal with a rich and varied imaginary, in which individual creativity is always winning, at the expense of fashion and affectations that monopolize contemporary art scene.
Of course, all events are free entry, as long as the intention is to widen the possible street art lovers audience. Summer Show is bringing artists in direct contact with the public, with their different life stories and all the asphalt, the dust and the splashes of color that have brought them here. Outside the cursus honorum imposed by Academies, critics and fairs, every street artist has to tell his irrepressible passion for art, the inevitable energy that drives him to act, move and put himself into play.
Maybe that is the particularity, the unique experience of Urban Painting in Milan. Artists are coming here with the desire to go further in their personal research, not stopping and being swallowed by the dynamics of rigid, not human and locked-in productivity.
There will not be another Urban Painting Summer Show. Street art is moving and in Urban Garage you can follow his footsteps, feel new smells, maybe changing your perspective and mental nood. There is not single school, but a great scene and it is here now.
Urban art is spreading like wildfire, so viral, because it doesn't exclude anyone. There is the possibility of one, hundred, thousand routes for each author and we have to think that other names, now unknown, will emerge with the strength of their ideas. In the meanwhile street art fanatics and insiders have been warned. Someone is realizing that something magical is happening under this sun. The hope is that the boundaries can be broken and finally in Italy like elsewhere in the world, street art can have the following it deserves.
