EL BOCHO @ WALLBREAKERS festival
Art WALLBREAKERS Festival Stop #4 at Arty Farty Gallery in Köln, featuring Berlin based tape artist El Bocho.
El Bocho, is one of the most active artists in the streets of Berlin and just established the world record by creating the biggest tape art work. The WALLBREAKERS festival presents his current "citizen" portraits series which connects his activities in the streets with the expostition in the gallery space. To each of his canvases exists a matching part in the urban landscape.

Contamination.. A hotchpotch of images leapt out of the continuos swirl of the tv, bursts of deafening music and advertisements that hammer uninterruptedly our heads. Take all of this and try to squeeze it: you'll obtain a pure and unripe concentrate made of smashing colors and marked contrasts. This concentrate is spread and packed ,sealed up inside a frame to remain a shiny and frozen image that tries somehow to stop the chaos. what is turning around you every day. Continuously ... These images creep in the simplified and colorful world of comics but they describe in a frantic way something that goes far beyond. Comics are not the aim but the necessary means to reach an audience as wide as possible and to avoid that the message is perceived by a few.
